HOW DOES ZION HEALTH WORK?
Within Zion Health, members across the United States commit to helping each other with their medical needs through a monthly contribution and pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Each month the contributions are pooled together and then pay the members’ needs (medical bills). If something were to happen, you break your leg, you would pay the first portion of the medical bill. This is called an Initial Unsharable Amount (IUA). After the the IUA is paid, the cost sharing community would pay for the remaining medical bills. To help keep costs low for their members, Zion also negotiates with the healthcare providers and is frequently able to save thousands, which results in the membership contribution amounts being so low.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HEALTH COST SHARING VERSUS TRADITIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE?
Through Core Care and Zion Health you are able to get the care you need at an affordable price. Zion has NO annual or lifetime limit to the amount you can receive for medical needs. On top of that, you are typically able to save 40-60% versus traditional insurance because of reduced red-tape and paperwork. Also being that cost sharing is not insurance, you have more flexibility in what services you can receive with alternative medicine options available. Lastly, Zion helps promote healthy lifestyles for their members and provide end of life assistance.
